From nudus (lat) = Naked. Due to its lack of a ring (?) curtain (?)
Common name = Wood Blewit

GILLS: Tight, uneven, adherent and low-cut, separable and light violet.
STEM: Up to 10 cm long and 3 cm thick, full, fibrous, the same colour as the gills or lights, with mycelium and the remains of hummus at the base.
FLESH: Whitish to light lilac, fat, sweet flavour and undefined aromatic smell.
HABITAT: Autumn to start of winter in fields and moorland, and oak, beech and pine forests. It sometimes sprouts in Spring.
